They will practically last forever and will fit almost anywhere. I love my 2 drawer cabinet because it fits perfectly under my desk. Anytime I need a file or access to some paper work all I have to do is swivel around in my chair.

Personally I like the lateral cabinets because the drawers do not have to extend out as far to get to files. Also the lateral cabinets can hold more files. But the vertical option is not a bad choice either because it will take up less space under your desk. Don’t stress out to much about this option because they are both great ways to go.

• Fire resistant filing cabinets may be a wise choice to protect those important documents. Although they cost significantly more it is well worth it. 
• Locking cabinets is also another very nice feature and comes standard in most 2 drawer cabinets. 
• Adjustable feet. Again this is a standard feature in most cabinets but is not necessary. 
• Ball bearing extension arm make sliding the drawers in and out easy. 
• Locking drawers is an important safety feature. Although this is pretty standard I would highly advise buying a cabinet that has this feature. Not only can it keep you and anyone else from getting hurt from it not tipping over. But it will also keep you from having the major headache of putting files back together that spill all over the floor.
